At a search engine conference, an Excite exec said
that doorway pages are spamming.

He was then asked whether adding pages to your site
which focus on one single concept (ie. one key phrase)
would be considered spamming. He said no.

It is a matter of semantics (ie. word games).

If you have a page that looks like garbage, is loaded
with keywords, and refreshes to your home page, they
don't like it.

If it is a decent looking page focusing on your one
idea (key phrase) with a link to the main site, that
tends to be OK.
