This is much too large a subject for a quick email
discussion, however; here is my spin...hope it helps.

Search engines are not intuitive. To achieve high
ranking you must speak their language (HTML syntax),
one-phrase at a time. Doorway pages accomplish this
task very well. Properly done doorways are in fact
welcome and acceptable to all crawlers.

Spamming is another issue. The frequency you submit,
the method of submission, who you are submitting to,
the number of documents, the number of domains, the
authenticity of your documents, are all factors which
can influence the interpretation of spamming an engine.

Sorry, but if you want to understand the intimate
details of submission techniques, doorways, the ethics
re: spamming etc., you'll have to read the book. There
simply is not enough time or space to cover this issue
in a discussion group.

Web Ignite has published a book, #1 Search Engine
Primer, capable of leading you through the process step
by step.

The book is available in Electronic or Paperback
versions.
