Usability Studies

Hello. This is my first question to the list and it is
also research related. I was hoping my peers could
help me with some ideas on a project I have been given.
We have a new web site and I've been asked to do some
"usability studies". I must create a "discussion
guide" to provide groups so that they can help us learn
about our website user interface. Does anyone have
experience with doing this? Any example discussion
guides? Any success stories? Are there any resources
that I might tap into such as web sites or vendors? We
were thinking about videotaping diads of people as they
navigate thru the site as well. Thanks so much.
