Those 'first buy' jitters can be overcome with 'first
buy' generosity. Instead of giving a discount that
would erode your price for the future, why not have a
first buy program that puts 25% back to the school
athletic program.

This would be a boon for local advertising sales to
have whole teams out selling advertising (like they do
in high school year books) to local businesses

For National and Regional advertisers have 25% go to
the winner of a particular stat category for the (week,
month, quarter, year)

Once you are established, you could convert these
programs to premium programs that would offer more
exposure for the advertisers beyond the banner.

Just one approach.
