List Verification?

Hello fellow members;

I am managing a website that includes a revenue sharing
project. We sell ezine ads for a series of "member"
ezines, and instead of collecting a commission, we pay
all monies due to the appropriate ezines and receive
exposure in those ezines in return for the paid ads we
bring them.

My question is; Does anyone know of any reliable list
verification software or services that we can use to
ensure that members are giving an accurate count of
viable email addresses. We don't want to be in the
position where we are selling ads for a client and
finding out that their list number was beefed up or
contained a lot of old, dead addresses.

Members that use services such as topica can be
verified online, but self-managed lists are a little
trickier - and I know that an email list is a
preciously guarded asset and not readily released at
the risk of having it misappropriated. Any assistance
would be much appreciated. Thanks!
