Different advertising methods via HTMLized email clients

My comments - it's amazing how the dynamics of
advertising and communication are changing just a few
minutes ago we're all talking about text advs in email
newsletters, and banner ads (rich, 400x60, smaller ones
and etc), but Dri. Wilson is right in stating the
obvious that with all these new email clients, I
recently upgraded to Eudora 4.3 BETA, we can get
rich-type media in our email clients - no WEB browswer
needed. Since I've been using Eudora, from the older
version, I've been exposed to all sorts of different
colors, fonts and etc. It makes a whole difference when
receiving plain ASCII text vs HTMLized newsletters. I
think advertisers and ezine publishers can take
advantage of this, and increase the
click-through-rates or even just the whole branding, or
marketing issue.

People may not always click through to a WEB site, and
DO OFTEN ignore banner advertisements, however,
assuming they look forward to receiving your
newsletter, one could do some very nice
advertising/content with newsletters.

Great content is not so hard to put together, however,
getting people to take action beyond reading is the
difficult part. Even talk radio, there's a huge silent
majority who only listen and rarely if ever TAKE ACTION
and call in.

Of course direct sales and buying are the ultimate
goal, but even if one can start small and get people
to just talk about an issue in a forum, or email the
editor with comments more often.....I think HTMLized
email clients will help with this in some way.

Am I wishing to hard?
