My reply:

In many cases I might rather have a hyperlink, esp. if
the purpose of the link is informational (not just in a
newsletter).

The favemail service sounds interesting, but depending
on your content, it might not be appropriate. Does it
record a user who reads the message while offline?

And what if your messages are plain text?
