While contracting an internet marketer to work for you
is nice, it's also expensive. If you are a large
company with a good budget and want immediate results,
outsourcing is the way to go. But if you have a few
weeks of free time to learn and your company isn't that
big, it's more rewarding in the long run, IMHO, to
learn to do it yourself. Internet marketing, like any
other skill, is something that can be learn by studying
and practicing, and it's not that hard, actually. You
can become decent in a few weeks, and expert in a few
months with the right instruction, dedication, and a
little advertising budget to blow.

If you learn to be an internet marketer, then ...well,
it's like having an internet marketer working for you
for free.

Of course if you make a lot of money per hour already,
that won't be a concern.

One site I recommend for people who aspire to become
internet marketers is The Internet Marketing Center.
The owner of this site, Corey Rudl gets over 4 million
visitors to his websites yearly, and does 5.2 million
dollars in sales online each year (yes, that is
$5,200,000). Here it is:

http://www.marketingtips.com/t.cgi/39469/ (I'd
appreciate anyone who's interested in that site to copy
the entire link without chopping off the affiliate
number. :)

One of the tactics Corey Rudl teaches us, is to find a
product that has potential but is being marketed badly.
We approach the owner, and tell them, in more or less
words, "I'm an expert internet marketer. If you give me
half of your profit for the next 10 years, I'll triple
your sales. You'll agree to this deal because the only
way you can get that many sales is with my help." Then
the owner accepts. We apply our tactics causing his
sales increase a lot (since the product was marketed
totally wrong before). So the owner is a few thousand
dollars richer, and we are also a few thousand dollars
richer.

But guess what? If the owner had just went and learned
internet marketing for himself, he'd have kept all the
profit. But now his profit potential is cut in half
because he signed that 10 year contract.

That is why I think people should learn internet
marketing for themselves. The above scenario was a
win-win situation...but the owner of the product could
have won even more if he knew how to market the product
himself.
