The numbers I saw about 3 months ago (from Macromedia)
were in the high 80s (%) of browser market penetration,
if memory serves. I think that reaches some kind of
threshold, particularly if you're marketing a net savy
audience. Using a 56kbps modem the plugin takes well
under 2 minutes to download. (350kb) Still, I have to
agree having a non-flash option is still imperative.
