Allan, I took a peek at your banner. Here's my take:

You sell art, but I don't SEE any art. What a see is a
car driving, a LOT of hard-to-read type in a script
font and a car driving back with a trailer. Why not
SHOW some thumbnails of the art you sell?

I hate to sound cliche, but a picture is worth a
thousand words. Guess what? You sell PICTURES!You show
a lot of artists' names. If I am more familiar with
their work than their name, identifying the artists
means nothing to me.

I don't know that I'd blow off banner advertising
period -- although I think some selected opt-in lists
would have better results -- but at least have the
banner reflect your PRODUCT! Good luck!
