Questions about list sponsorships
One of my self appointed duties in my new position is
to incorporate advertising into our clients interactive
media. One of the biggest concerns I have is how does
my company go about selling advertising space on a
variety of email newsletters? How/ do most companies
charge? Is it by the amount of subscribers you have on
the list, the length of the advertisement, or another
measurement? What are average rates for an email
newsletter? Do you place the advertisement at the top,
the bottom, in the middle or all of the above and is
there a different fee for those different placements?
Should you only allow one advertiser per newsletter or
multiple?
To give a little background on what we are offering to
companies. Our clients are national specialty nursing
organizations (orthopaedics, urology, etc.). Most of
the email newsletter lists are have subscription counts
under 1,000, but the audiences are very targeted. At
the moment there are other advertising opportunities
our clients offer, such as exhibiting, advertising in
printed newsletters and corporate memberships. We also
have a base of potential advertisers such as Johnson &
Johnson, Pfizer, etc. to pull from.
I am not sure if this subject has been discussed prior
to this message, but I am new to this list and to the
world of online advertising and would appreciate any
and all advice you would have for me.
Thanks,
Scott Johnson
