Newsletter with banners

Hi,

We offer 13 different newsletters in text format and
want to send them now in HTML format with banner-ads. I
tried to create a newsletter by making a standard
HTML-page and integrating it into an eMail, but i
didn't work as well as i imagined it:
- the background color remains white
- layers, javascripts and style sheets were not
  supported
- and the biggest problem: images weren't integrated

How can i change the background color?

How can i integrate the images (banner-ads) into the
page so that they are send with the eMail and being
online is unnecessary?

Is there a program for creating HTML-newsletters?

Please help me!

ciao
Christoph

PS: sorry for my bad english...
