Chris,

At the recent Web Advertising conference presented by
ThunderLizard in NYC, one of the presenters quoted CPM
ad rates as varying between $30 and up to $250 for
highly targeted sites. At our site, techexchange.com, a
site targeted to apparel and textile manufacturers that
delivers approximately 50,000 page impressions per
month, we have been selling banners in the $100 range
(price drops slightly for larger buys) and have never
had any price resistance (ignoring of course, those
buyers who have to negotiate). I would suggest checking
some of the other sites in your market and see what
they are charging. Since our site was one of the first
ones in the space (we have been up for over 4 years),
our competitors used us as a guideline to set their
pricing.
