banner length standard?

Hi,

I've got a question for the participants of this
mailing list: Let's say a site visitor sticks 5 minutes
to the same page that can automatically refresh to get
new banners. What is the standard duration an
advertiser could require for its banner before any
other banner can appear and replace the previous one?

Thanks.
