Frames & Search Engines

What problems do search engines have with the sites
that have frames? When I constructed my site, I had not
planned to submit to various search engines, as I
mostly wanted my clients, or local people to see it.
But now I'm putting some information there that
warrants at least some attention from the over-seas
surfer, and hence, I'm thinking of submitting my site
to various search engines. But I hear that since my
site uses frames, it's no use submitting it. Can
somebody advise what to do now. I'm too lazy to convert
the entire site to a non-framed one.
