Dear Jeanne,
Using my company's third party AdServer (AKQA Analyst)
you would be able to track click through's on any URL
or Image within your site, for example using this to
monitor traffic through your site from your homepage.
To show how simple using AKQA Analyst is, the links
should go some way to explaining our AdServing
methodology.
For example, if you were to sell a book directly
through Amazon.com you might have a URL similar to:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0718143604/dutskiseclectiwo/026-362 2144-9177204
By using AKQA Analyst this URL would be replaced with:
http://adserver.akqa.net/redirect.dll?A13B4AED40BD11D48C0200902798A974
This URL would then allow you to track all click
through's from your site.
However if you wanted to track actual sales, you would
need to use our Unique User tracking system, which
would require an image (eg 1x1 gif) placed on the
bookstore's sales completion page for impression
tracking. From there we would be able to report on
users who clicked the link / users who purchased the
book and the length of time it took that user to buy
the book.
I would be very happy to arrange an online demo of AKQA
Analyst, should you be interested.
Kind regards.
