Marketing via the discussion list

Hi all. I've been reading this list for the last 9
months or so and have posted some questions and
comments from time to time. The group has been quite
helpful overall. I appreciate all of the great
feedback via the list.

One thing that I haven't been too happy with lately is
the number of people who contact me outside this list
to sell me products. (A CC on your post is fine
by-the-way, it helps get a needed answer a little
quicker.) I'm sorry I haven't responded to each of you
individually, but I honestly just don't have time.

The second thing I haven't been happy with is the
number of these individuals who have automatically put
me on their "opt-in" list after contacting me.

My suggestion to keep this list user-friendly is to
post responses to the list unless someone requests
otherwise. I'm sure the rest of you struggle with info
overload in your in boxes as well. I think this list
is a great resource, but if people are only using it to
blatantly market themselves, welll.....Am I alone in
this sentiment?
