Here is our policy at Online Ads:
If someone adds you to a mailing list without your
permission just because you have posted to this list,
then that is grounds for immediate removal of the
person doing that from our list.
If you post a question to the list, and you receive a
solicitation to buy a product or service that is not
related to answering your post, then that is
inappropriate, and we will remove the person from the
list in that event as well.
However, if you post a question to the list related to
products or services (such as "what media buying
agency should I hire for my campaign") and you receive
a lot of relevant replies offering solutions (such as
from agencies that think that they can help you) then
that is entirely appropriate. You asked for this help,
and in many cases it is more appropriate for the
responding party to answer you directly rather than
post the answer to the entire list -- which might not
be interested in all the replies to your question.
