You have a pretty solid selection already, but I might
add minisites to the mix.
It sound like your clients want something less
"advertisey" than banner ads, and a minisite can be a
great way to interact with potential customers.
Granted, you still need the customer to click on
something to get there, but that's simple enough.

Try PowerStudents, Sports University and
HighSchoolAlumni, all part of Snowball.com -- they are
networks of college sites that reach your audience. I
can send you my conacts there if you want.

I wouldn't -- I was speaking with a gentleman from
StarCom the other week who was just raving about how
he thought targeted email messages were the way to go.
These days they're mostly opt-in, so you are pretty
safe.

Definitely try Snowball -- I think they can help you
out. And anyone who is an ad-based company and
refuses to discuss creative advertising solutions
isn't worth advertising on in the first place --
they'll be out of business before your campaign ends ;)
