Hello Philip,
I've done a lot of work with people who develop sites
for the "Adult" market. The one thing I can tell you
to pass on to your friend is that there are *very* few
who've ever created any decent revenue stream from
carrying other people's banners or promotions on a
'per-click' basis. The successful 'free' sites are
usually created strictly in order to drive traffic to
other membership based sites that they also own.
If your friend is not also going to put some pay sites
online then he shouldn't count on it being any kind of
income generator. About the best path to follow in
that case would be to sign up for (and heavily
promote) a top Adult affiliate program. Most don't
convert very well but the most successful Adult sites
do have affiliate/partnership programs which have a
better conversion ratio.
I can point you to the one I'd suggest if you like.
Feel free to contact me off-list if you'd like me to
send that information to you.
All the best,
Simon Ays
