Internet media planning guideline

Hi,

Is there any kind of guideline that is available for
internet media planning that is based on stage in
lifecycle of a brand/ marketing task for the brand. Let
me expand...

Is there any recommendation on levels of activity/
choice on type of site etc. based on...

1. Major innovation on the brand (marketing task :
   Increase penetration and therefore create awareness)
2. Minor innovation on the brand (marketing task :
   Increase penetration and create awareness)
3. Maintenance (marketing task : maintain shares and
   brand values)
4. Promotions (induce trial and build rapid awareness)

Any specific examples to FMCG category will be welcomed
