Absolutely wrong. Many of us who care enough about the
internet and our own personal time regularly report
spammers... but conversely give a lot of love to
ethical merchants. I spend tens of thousands of
dollars a month over the internet, and while that
doesn't make me "anybody's" customers, it sure makes
me a customer of some happy companies :-)

Or buy targeted banner ads through a company like
AllAdvantage (which is having trouble now, but IMHO,
deserves to survive), and know that you're putting up
your banner in front of people who have ASKED to see
your banner in exchange for payment by AllAdvantage.

Again, I disagree (and I'm puzzled as to why you
persist in assuming that opt-in mail is disliked, just
because you don't like it).
I have consciously chosen to receive a bunch of opt-in
e-mail ads. I LIKE receiving ads from Netcreations
and Postmaster Direct and so on. I LIKE receiving ads
from MyPoints. I have often bought stuff from
merchants advertising in this e-mails.
Just because YOU, Brad, receive opt-in e-mail that:
1) You don't like
2) You didn't really consciously ask for
doesn't make all opt-in e-mail evil.

Not really. These folks could be just too lazy to
unsubscribe.
> and/or only people who have responded to at least one ad
I think THAT, though, would be really cool.

Hmm... interesting idea. I'd have to think about that a bit.
