Determining media value

I work in the pr dept for a small ad agency and need to
know how to determine media value for press releases
that are published online. I know that for print we
call that particular publication and request the cost
per inch of copy or how they measure the cost, but I am
not sure what I am asking for when I call these e-zines
or online editors. Our goal is to determine media
savings we didn't have to buy. In order to do this I
need to get a media value for web sites. Any
suggestions or experience in this area let me know.
