Dear Chris,

You might want to recheck your email content, and how
direct it was, the Net is very fragile on this subject
now.... it sounds like great promoting but it is now
more trouble than it is worth. BUT...I do believe the
person was over-reacting, and unfortunately you will
need a very tough skin these days with some people.
People have fixed ideas about what constitutes Spam,
Direct Mail, Un-Solicited Emails, friendly site
appraisal, etc.

We used to do a lot of direct emailing...i.e. one to
one emails but found that ...though we didn't get any
problems with anyone because we sent to Realtors for
Real Estate Info, Mining Companies for Mining info,
Cargo Handlers , Office Equipment Suppliers, etc.....
we made more contacts and business dealings by hiring
writers, and listing on Review sites, setting up
portals, creating products for free but use viral
marketing..... contacting the press on ALL these,
matters....

We have stopped the direct emailing entirely, and still
have the same income and a rising rate of 15% ON the
rate of business income per month.... we are actually
paying for the whole business, with a profit too...out
of the promotion we are engaged in now.

So do not despair, if you want to email.... and you have
a team.... get them to (as someone else pointed out) make
contacts with the press, phone them, email them, look
them up around the Net , build relationships, add
ourselves to review sites, offer freebies on FREE sites,
Search engine submissions REGULARLY..., it s work BUT it
works.

Good luck
Alec Ellis
