I agree Jackie. As a former journalist now on the
other side of the equation (pitching stories), it
has always been important to me to give the media
copy that's clean and as ready to run as possible --
a side benefit of this is that I can usually show
my clients how the journalist used most or sometimes
all of my verbiage.

Since the Internet's inception, it's been vogue to
dismiss proper syntax and general rules of good
writing (I am also guilty of this). However, as the
Web becomes more vital to our professional and
private lives, it is essential to realize these
rules are put into place to establish a common
ground for communication.
