Disabling these annoying tricks used by
web programmers is easy with Netscape,
but does not seem possible with MSIE.

Open Netscape and click as follows:

Options >Security Options> General

Select Disable Java and Disable Javascript to
prevent your browser from being hijacked or
having the History object cleared by embedded
or downloaded scripts.

If scripts are written in other programming
languages that are read by your browser
you may still have the same problems, just
less of them.

BTW, disabling Java and Javascript may
result in diminished functionality for many
web sites.
