Now, *there's* an interesting question: Where to find
a list of advertisers willing to give a planned web
site advertising revenue, "site unseen", before visitor
#1 walks in the door? I think such a list is stashed
away with that list of 37 doctors who still believe the
jury is out on whether smoking is actually harmful to
your health (aka "The Flat Earth Society").
The fact is, if you can find any advertiser blindly
willing to throw ad revenue at nothing more than a
concept, especially in a competitive category such as
employment sites, then you're the luckiest sales guy on
the planet who found the most naive marketer on the
planet.
If you succeed in generating ad revenue before you even
put your site live, you likely satisfied one of these
two conditions: (a) Your site is backed by a major
media concern who's willing to guarantee impressions
across its other properties if the new one flops, or
(b) You accept the advertising on a straight
cost-per-action basis.
Option (b) is your most likely scenario, and that still
means you don't get a penny until you actually get the
site up and start generating actual traffic and leads
for your advertiser.
Best of luck to you.
