I believe the crunch point for news and many other
"traditional hard media", will be the convergence of
the Internet and Television. Newspapers etc. are
convenient to read whenever and wherever required,
whereas right now, most people will not switch on their
PC just to read the same thing online. However - the
average family does spend a significant amount of time
watching the box, which is a normal part of familiy
life in most households. When reading newspapers,
managing email is as easy on the TV set with a cordless
keyboard/mouse as it is currently on a PC, then I
believe that will be absolutely pivotal the future of
hard media.
