LIST OWNER'S NOTE: Looking to the Future
As your list owner, I'm taking a "time out" from our
regular content to ask Online Ads members to offer
ideas and opinions as a new online venture is being
designed by Tenagra. We are polling a number of
different online communities for their opinions. My
experience is that this list has some of the most
innovative and forward thinking people in the industry.
I believe that the broad perspective that Online Ads
members have to offer could prove quite valuable.
We live in an era of dramatic transformation and it is
not easy to anticipate or prepare for the future. The
Internet Revolution surprised many of our most creative
inventors, researchers, politicians, science fiction
writers and (say it isn't so) advertising industry
executives who didn't understand what was evolving.
Are other revolutionary ideas growing today that will
have similar or greater impact on human civilization?
We want your thoughts about what you see as the key
technological opportunities and problems that mankind
faces in the next 20-100 years. Space settlement,
robotics, genetic engineering, nanotechnology or
longevity research could transform society in ways that
are not understandable today. Or perhaps other
scientific and technological trends could become even
more important.
What do you think are the top ten big ideas that will
most likely shape the future? We would like to know
your opinion. Or just tell us about one major
developing interest area and explain why it might
become important to future generations.
