I have been reading your discussion regarding whether
newspapers are doomed becuase of the internet. I
believe that the internet is actually helping
newspapers create new revenue channels. Those that
were quick to embrace the internet are benefiting the
most. Ad revenue from classifieds are auctually up at
many newspapers as a result of the internet.

The internet has created thousands of new homebased
business opportunities. And many of the home based
businesses are advertising their new websites in the
newspapers in order to drive traffic to their sites
from offline opportunity seekers. Most business
opportunites simply cannot survive by just using
online advertising to drive visitors to their site.
And the newspapers are still the best way to drive
traffic to their site. I have seen many people have
great success advertising their opportunities in
newspapers. So I think more and more people will
continue to advertise both offline and online in order
to reach the entire market.
