Hi Havah,

I thought I would reply to your post also. This is the
e-mail that we send to our unsubscribers
w/personalization:

We received your request to be removed from our
     weekly newsletter "Web Ad.vantage's Marketing
     Tip List."

Your name has been successfully removed. We were
wondering if you would take a few minutes to let
us know why you requested to be removed or if you
have any feedback we could use to improve our
     newsletter.

If at anytime you'd like to re-subscribe we'd be
     glad to have you back.

This works well for us. We get many responses to this
including a job change where the subscribers e-mail
address is changing and people going on vacation who
plan to re-subscribe when they return. We even get the
ones who tell us that they subscribed and realized that
it wasn't the information they were looking for (ours
is marketing a web site more than designing a web
site). In this case they are not saying that something
is wrong with our newsletter just that it's not what
they were looking for. We in turn always send a follow
up thanking them for their feedback.

The only people who seem to get annoyed w/us are the
folks who try to unsubscribe from the list using a
different e-mail account than the one they signed up
with. It usually takes several e-mails before we can
finally get them off and we don't bother sending the
feedback request because I'm sure they have had enough
of our e-mails by then! <g>

All the best,
Sam Hendricks
