Re: Tracking traffic and orders
Reg. Jake's mail of 10/10
A danish company is working on a hardware prototype for
a tracking system.
The system track's
Users
Possible Baskets (Dismissed or "bought"
Sections of the Site
AdEffect (If you type in the ads bought)
- and of course
COA (Cost of Aq.)
CPL (Cost pr. Lead)
COS (Cost of Sale)
+ long term costs/revenue pr. client.
It's all done in "hardware" and data is optimized for
Datamining.
Future releases will have Datamining built into the
system.
Release date is set for 1/1 - 2001.
The current product they offer - collect all logfiles
from ALL webservers to a single collection point (by
non-intrusive listening) so Web-Server logging can be
turned off on the web-servers. (Gives about 10-30%
performance increase on the webserver)
On top of that the Box meassures the speed you can send
data to client on. (Eg. how many REAL KB/s can the user
receive.) Currently Apache and IIS modules exist to
"ask" the box which users can get how much bandwith.
Everything is done in realtime - with real time
repports.
As I'm part of the Investor Group - my opinions of the
product might be optimistic ;-) But I'm Sales Director
for the Largest Danish Portal (www.jubii.dk) with
2.000.000 unique users / month - and the product is
solving a lot of issues for us.
Weblog collection alone saved us 3 man days pr. week.
