This has been something that has been of interest to me
recently. Often when you find the editorial team for a
magazine on their website, there is just a list of
names so you have an important decision to make. Who
do you mail? Should it be the editor? The
editor-in-chief? Or hope that the journalist you pick
at random is receptive to unsolicited email. I'd like
to hear some reactions from people in the industry
about their receptiveness to this approach. And also
how pushy can you be? Over do it and I guess you've
probably blown your chances of ever getting anything
published in that publication again. It seems, from
reading people's responses to this issue that getting
your story published is far from an exact science. And
what about these online PR agencies/services that
distribute your story for you, they always tout their
close links with certain publications but how good are
they? Has anybody had any experience with them?
