I am not sure what IPR laws govern in the UK, however,
all of our subcontract/consulting services agreements
specify that if you are paid for the work, it is a
"work made for hire" and you have relinquished any IPR
ownership claims. The case can be made without the
language, but a good consulting agreement will mitigate
any confusion from the inception. Strong fences make
good neighbors.
