We've been evaluating Advertising.com's AvantGo ad
network as a publisher in past couple of months and
their system at least allows you to target to PDA ads.
But to determine if user uses specific brand of PDA,
my bet is that it's almost impossible, but I can still
think that by using the set of PDA ID numbers that
PalmOS devices pass to AvantGo servers (and to
publisher) you could determine what type of device
the user is using. You just have to find out if there
is a difference in PDA ID numbers with Palm, Sony
and Handsrping devices.=20
And of course, you have to ask the publisher to implement
this type of coding to his/her AvantGo page as well.
Using a third-party ad servers with AvantGo pages
is _really_ tricky task and therefor I recommend to
implement ad campaigns running on publishers
servers.
