If your Web server collects statistics, then create a
Web page that uses "noindex, nofollow" meta tags to
stay out of the search engines and put a link to that
page in your email. Every hit on the page will be an
indication of an email driven response. That would
take you all of 10 minutes to set up.
A more sophisticated measurement (such as determining
unique visitors, tailored responses trapped by a
database, etc.) would require some programming time,
and there is in fact software out there to do this for
you, although I cannot give you an opinion on its
effectiveness or reliability.
That said, I have seen one recommendation for
http://dtp-aus.com/cgiscript/lnkinlte.shtml but I
consider the source to be questionable. I don't know
if the endorsement was compensated in any way, and
even if it wasn't it may not be what you're looking
for.
