Who's IS IT!?
I, too, suggest going to a lawyer on this. Copyrights
lawyer and do not spare the expense if the product is
going to make you more money in the future. I worked
in the printing business for twenty years and I saw
this go on almost daily.
A customer would come requesting a logo be designed and
would pay, say, $250. for the logo and then commence
to use it with and on their printing needs. When they
would come back to get the materials and the logo
(layout sheets, etc.) the argument was often, no, we
own the rights to the artwork, you own the rights to
use it in our shop. This continues to this day in our
town and many across the nation. I have seldom seen a
case when the printer wins if it comes to a court
battle. Good Luck! It Is not fun.
