No.

So why am I writing, you ask? I thought I would share
our experiences with the list. Our two companies do a
large volume of email on a daily basis and our
experience with list management software is extensive.
AudetteMedia, with 75,000 subscribers and 12 lists, is
the leading publisher of discussion lists for Internet
professionals. Adventive offers services to business
to business email publishers and currently represents
publications with over a million subscribers.

We used UnityMail from Revnet for years for the
AudetteMedia lists and it was equivalent to having a
teenager who is constantly in trouble. Their customer
service was fantastic but the software was buggy and
unreliable. They have since been bought by a larger
company so perhaps their quality has increased.

We now use LISTSERV from L-Soft and have spent over
$30,000 for licenses and "support" during the past
year. LISTSERV is powerful and fully featured, but it
is not without bugs. And we have found their support to
be weak. Their main response seems to be, "We've never
seen anything like that before" in a dismissive sort
of tonen that implies we must not know what we're
doing. They're not dealing with newbies at our company
-- our Postmaster is a Microsoft Certified
Professional and really knows his stuff. Trying to get
solid support from L-Soft has been continually
frustrating.

We have also evaluated Lyris and our conclusion is that
there is no bullet-proof, fully featured, well
supported list management software currently
available. I'd love to be wrong -- if other subscribers
know of something that we have missed please tell us
about it.

Stay Focused,
John Audette
