Re: Too much "rich media" pushed to IW Fall 2000 journalists

I'm reading as this interesting discussion unfolds. I
can't believe my eyes. Where is this animosity towards
rich media stemming from :-)? The trend is unstoppable
as far as I can see... Even AOL is switching to HTML
email. Slowly but surely!

Few comments:

1) Just because something is abused, misused and people
are still confused, it does not mean that the medium is
the culprit. Guns don't kill, people do! So let's
stop the abuse together!

2) I'm also a believer in free will and customization.
No one should be forced into anything. There are many
tools available. Leave your emails on the server and
choose what you want to download. Use filters. Don't
want something streamed into your inbox--Delete!

3) On a final note, as for the creative that doesn't
get the message across, well, neither would a long
texual page that is improperly articulated.

A picture says a thousand words. Add some sound to it
and you have one powerful tool.

So use it properly and enjoy!
