The question of link popularity is an important one and
I've eagerly trying each advice option presented from
the list.

I tried
http://www.marketposition.com/linkpopularity.htm and
found that the results varied extremely depending on
the search engine. One search engine had 56 links to my
site others showed over 1000. How can one find out all
the sites which are linked to their site?

The search engines don't give accurate results. Also,
does anyone have any recommendations of places where
one can get permanent links (not FFA). I find
exchanging links is time consuming. There has to be a
better way.
