It's only a powerful tool if your intended audience
actually waits for it to load and looks at it and stays
there long enough to click around to find the
information they want.

The important point is the audience. What THEY want and
will USE, not what designers or corporate execs or ad
agencies think looks cool.

Does that mean you throw out the baby with the water?
No. But it does mean you don't put a captain's hat on
the baby and put the kid at the helm of an ocean liner.
