You don't say how big the ads are, but if they are all
468x60 you're killing yourselves with all the banner
loads. And you really don't give us any information
to be helpful.

Webadverts, written in Perl, has its limits. But what
type of server are you using? What is the connection
to the Internet for that server (bandwidth)? How
large are the banner files? Are they being served
locally or do the ads draw the graphics from remote
locations? Have HEIGHT= and WIDTH= tags been used in
the code for the banners? How are the pages designed?
Are there lots of other graphics? Are there any other
inclusions or CGI activities on the pages? How much
HTML code is on the pages? Is everything loaded into
one huge table? Is the perceived "load time" possibly
due in part to rendering time?

I'm running two 468x60 banners on my pages along with 1
or 2 125x125 banner button ads and a few other small
graphics. I use Webadverts. It's not taking 20
seconds to load the pages.

Each system is different and you have to look at all
the factors.

Throwing more software into the mix may or may not help
you. Any advice you get based on what you've told us
will be mostly a shot in the dark. There IS software
that can handle large loads better than Webadverts,
but I've run into people who were dispensing 4 million
views a month before they had to switch out of
Webadverts.
