I agree there have been alot of dotcom failures this
year and there will be many more in the future, but it
is not from the believing that many subscribers, the
life blood of the net today, in the future, will make
you 100's of millions of dollars. (Unfortunately this
was a small part of my previous email, where it
mentioned Business plans, Marketing and Action Plans
etc.... would be good to give the proper context of an
issue before labeling it).
It is my belief and that of many marketing and stock
market analysts, of which I have submitted a few
examples over the past month; that the failure is
mostly due to Internet Entrepreneurs and Corporations
only set up as a name, providing concepts to over
anxious Angels, small inexperienced new VCs, their
families, relations, and friends, to invest in...and
once having the money having to go and GET or "finish"
the idea they promised.... no real serious thoughts on
how their concept will work, or be supported, or
PRODUCE. With the hysteria of dotcom success over the
past year and dollar signs in the eyes of small hopeful
investors, it was easy for Entrepreneurs to "con"
people out of their money.
Unlike in the Offline world...where NO VC will invest
with you until they see a Business Plan; Action Plan;
Financial Plan and strong past and future Financial
Forecast; evidence of Management success and strength,
the list goes on.
THIS... is why the stock exchanges are reporting
Internet failures now. You STILL have to have a vision,
I agree a sensible one, but you need a goal, and above
all you need a concept that has LEGS, and can withstand
the bullying in places such as 100 year old Stock
Markets... the big boys have been there a long time and
Dot coms haven't.

> to sell this dam thing for
A light comical view, in a very serious email.....
Yours sincerely
