How important is server platform to you?

Hello everyone!

This subject was touched upon in another post, but it
made wonder. How important is the server platform to
you when choosing an ad serving technology?

While some people who use central serving solutions
might not be concerned with this questions, as their
site and business grow and they look to potentially
bring ad serving in-house, as many sites do, this can
become a major issue. Making sure that your migration
is seemless or at least as painless as possible.
Making sure that your ads run without interruption.

Does availability on specific OS and Web server
combinations play a major role in your decision, or is
this just left up to your hosting company or technical
staff to figure out?
