Are you sure??? I think it depends on your email
program and the requirements of the SMTP server. For
example, on mine (Eudora Pro) for regular email (not
for list mail like on-lineads_at_o-a.com) I see the email
address that it was sent *from*, without having to look
at all headers.

When the outgoing SMTP service (i.e. Earthlink)
*requires* a user to use a "from" email address that
*matches* their SMTP server ... and if they don't
match, the email won't go out at all -- and this is
often the case, there's no way someone can have their
"from" be the domain name, it must be their Earthlink
email address.

Since you can only have the "reply-to" be the domain
name address, that doesn't show at all, unless I do a
reply to that email address. So, yes, in my opinion,
it does look unprofessional.

That happened to us with another ISP, and we switched
ISP's because of it.
