Paul,
The file size is essentially not the issue here. So
long as the animation/audio loads instantly, which
KKMGI's (http://www.kmgi.com) does, then the banners or
Webmercials do not have a detrimental effect on the
website. Furthermore, we are working closely with ad
serving agencies and webmasters who DO allow KMGI type
ads on sites. Webmasters are now realising that they
have to get away from the traditional 12K maximum file
size rule if they want their advertising to be
effective. It's similar to the emergence of digital TV.
If users want an increased interactive experience,
certain modifications have to be made and accepted
(it's called 'the future'!). Rich media is one of the
new methods of advertising online and HTML banners will
soon be cast aside as their effectiveness continues to
dwindle.
