Robert's advice on the importance of a good title and
description are absolutely correct, but category
selection is indeed absolutely the most important thing
you should initially be concerned with when submitting
at Yahoo.

Pick your very most important term -- I know you all
will have tons of things you want to be found for, but
pick what's absolutely essential.

Now, go to Yahoo and search for it. See what categories
come up. Sometimes, this doesn't always happen, if your
search term is fairly obscure or unusual. In that case,
great, category isn't a big deal.

On the other hand, if you do see categories, then you
want to be listed in the first one that is ALSO
relevant to your products or services. Why? Because
Yahoo's users are likely to clickthrough to that
category and choose one of the sites listed within it.
Obviously, you then want this to be your home category.

This can't always be the case, and it can't be the case
for every search. But try to get this correspondence
when you can. After that, don't worry about it -- rely
on having your key terms in your description as a way
to also help float you to the top of Yahoo's results.

cheers,
danny
