Traditional trademarks in e-business

Hi all --

I work for a naming/branding company called Catchword;
I am writing an article for industry publication about
how e-business entrepreneurs view traditional
trademark. This article will (we hope and expect)
appear in a publication with national distribution, and
-- if you take a few minutes to give me your thoughts
   on this issue
-- your name and company name will be included. Free
   publicity for you!

This is not a commercial enterprise for me; I am not a
marketing professional -- I am a namer, and I happen
to also deal with trademarks in the process. This
article was born from my own curiosity and
observations. My gain, like yours, is elevation of the
profile of my company in the industry.

So, I am very interested in hearing what you all have
to say! This is a short survey -- only four questions
