In response to your inquiry concerning Find What and
Goto.com....
We have found GoTo.com to be the best, overall traffic
generating tool for small businesses. Done correctly, a
client may have 300-500 keywords and phrases on a pay
per click search engine. In general, you can get
between 80-200 new, unique, qualified visitors to your
site per day with GoTo.com. The best part is that most
clients only pay between $2 - $20 per day for this kind
of traffic. We start every new client on our exclusive
GoTo.com program. Once they see the visitors they are
getting we ask them if they want to try any other pay
per click search engines.
I have heard of problems with FindWhat.com and also
EPilot. In each instance FindWhat and Epilot showed a
crazy amount of visits to the web site, but the web
site's stats showed hardly any activity at all. The
result was that the clients were reimbursed (with
credit) by the search engines.
In my opinion, pay per click search engines are the
answer to the small businessperson's dreams. For a
small amount of money, they can receive significant
traffic. Plus, they don't have to wait months to see
results. In most cases everything is set up and online
within 10 days. You just can't get results like that
with the regular search engines.
There is a significant danger to people who don't have
any strategy. I recently set up a client on this
program and he was very happy about his activty. He
said he wished he'd done it sooner. He is in the toy
business and decided that he should become number one
for the term "toys" since it's right before Christmas.
He figured that since his traffic was so good with the
low bids, he'd make it even better. I tried to talk him
out of it, but it didn't work. I got an email from him
the next day...He spent over $900 over only several
hours that day, ran out of money on his account, and is
now totally offline with GoTo.com. So, I checked his
web site actvity and he's back to approx 10 visitors
per day again. This client could have kept his
listings as we set them up and his $200 on account
would have lasted over 40 days and 3500 interested, new
visitors during Christmas. Instead, he spent $900 over
a few hours and received a general audience of people
looking for "toys". How many ! orders did he get that
day? 3! 3 orders for $900. Sad.
Bottom line...you've got to know what you're doing, or
else leave it to a professional.
Sincerely,
Linda Rocco
