Re: Search engine consulting
Hello,
I have been reading with interest this thread on search
engine consulting. The last thing I read said
"With their product, you have control of the keywords
and metas, as well as tracking for the search engine
listings."
One problem with that is that often web site owners
don't even know which keywords and phrases would most
benefit them. But, I love (and offer) a tracking
system for anyone with a web site who does search
engine submissions with my company. I think it's a
mistake to think that adding the meta tags and
keywords you want is going to result in your being
ranked well on the search engines. There is so much
more involved that I find it scary to think about how
many people are being suckered into this idea. I've
seen it a million times...."Only $29 per month and you
get submitted to a billion search engines". Some web
site owners don't even know the difference between
being submitted and actually being indexed or ranked.
Then, their actual ranking for keywords and phrases
could be anywhere between 1 and 1 million.
I suggest 1 of 2 things.
1. Hire a professional (blatant plug)
2. If you have the time, go to
www.searchenginewatch.com or www.searchengines.com.
There is an enormous amount to learn about the topic
of search engine ranking. The more you know, the more
likely you are to A)not get ripped off and B)possibly
handle your own search engine submissions with good
results.
Sincerely,
Linda Rocco
